The Bloomington Bruins avenged their overtime loss to the Eagles with a 30-7 victory on Friday Night. The Bruins shut down the Eagles prominent offensive attack which came into the game averaging 43.5 point per game. The Bruins were especially effective in pass defense as they intercepted Eagles Quarterback Justin Esquivel 3 times.
The Eagles were able to keep it close trailing only 10-7 late in the 3rd quarter. Justin Esquivel connected with Tight End Jesse Williams for a 42 yard reception that set up the Eagles only score a 7 yard toss from Esquivel to Elijah Randle. The Eagles were unable to do anything else on offense the rest of the way and a couple late turnovers made the score more lopsided than the game actually was.
The Eagles defense played really well and did a good job containing the Bruins explosive run game. Unfortunately, the Eagles could not get enough going on offense to come up with the comeback. With the loss the Eagles fell to 1-2 on the season, they will look to rebound as they return home to Zack Earp Stadium next Friday Night against the Canyon Springs Cougars.
