La Sierra returned to the classroom on August 8th with fresh duds, dos, and attitudes, but what was really simmering just beneath the collar of all those new and returning students was the excitement of the impending start of the sports season. With football, cross country, girls volleyball, girls tennis, boys water polo, and girls golf all gearing up to compete, the excitement-infused energy could hardly be contained.
Action begins this week with our defending River Valley League champion girls volleyball team hosting three games against the always tough Canyon Springs Cougars on Monday (3:15/4:30/6:00). After reviewing the footage of that carnage, the Eagles will host new-league-entry-in-the-2020-season Arlington on Wednesday for three more level of dominance.
Thursday will see our defending River Valley League champion girls golf team take to the links against the Arlington Lions, at Fairmount Park in Riverside; Tee-time is set for 3:15 PM.
Football also kicks off this week, as we host San Bernardino HS in this Week-0 thriller. The freshmen kickoff on the campus of La Sierra at 3:15 on Thursday, 8/22, while the varsity turns on the Friday Night Lights at THE Alvord District Stadium. Kickoff there is at 7:00 PM sharp!
We look forward to seeing ALL OF YOU at these games, supporting our wonderful young athletes! GO EAGLES!!
